Privacy policy

We process personal data only to the extent needed to handle your inquiry and for business cooperation. This page explains what data that is, why we need it and what rights you have.

Who processes your data

The controller is Rastislav Kováč – RK medical, Company ID (IČO) 32844298, Tax ID (DIČ) 1020845881.

For questions about personal data, contact us by email at info@rkmedical.sk or by phone on +421 905 455 357. We have not appointed a data protection officer – under the Regulation, a business of our size is not required to.

What data we process and why

When you send us an inquiry through the form, by email or by phone, we process your name, email address, phone number, the name of your healthcare facility or company, the content of your message and, where relevant, the device you are interested in. We need this to handle the inquiry, prepare a quote and agree the next steps with you.

  • The legal basis is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • If you write on behalf of a hospital, clinic or company, we also process your contact details on the basis of our legitimate interest in communicating with customers' representatives (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If an inquiry leads to an order, we also process the data needed for delivery, installation, service and invoicing. The legal basis is the performance of the contract and our legal obligations in accounting and tax (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).

When you visit the website, the hosting server stores technical logs – IP address, time and the page visited. They are used to secure the website and resolve faults and are processed on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and visitor statistics

To understand which pages and devices interest you, we use Google Analytics. It runs only if you agree in the bar at the bottom of the page. Without your consent nothing is sent to Google and no cookies are stored.

Google Analytics records the pages visited, where you came to the website from, the type of device and browser and your approximate location (country, city). It stores the cookies _ga and _ga_Z6X5RPSK15 in your browser to recognise repeat visits. According to Google, it does not store IP addresses. We only see the data as aggregate statistics – we cannot identify a specific person from them.

  • The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • You can withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the page footer. This deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
  • The website remembers your choice for one year and then asks again.

Apart from that, the website only remembers two choices in your browser: your cookie consent (otherwise it would ask on every visit) and light or dark mode, if you switched it. This data stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing. The following may have access to it:

  • our web hosting and email provider WebSupport s.r.o., which runs our server and mailboxes,
  • if you consent to statistics, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, as the operator of Google Analytics,
  • if a business relationship arises, the person who keeps our accounts,
  • public authorities, where required by law.

We do not transfer data from the form or our communication outside the European Union. Google may also process statistics data in the USA; the transfer is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google has committed.

How long we keep data

  • An inquiry that does not lead to an order – at most 2 years from our last communication.
  • Contracts, orders and invoices – 10 years, as required by accounting and VAT regulations.
  • Technical server logs – according to the hosting settings, usually a few weeks.
  • Google Analytics statistics – cookies are valid for at most 2 years; Google keeps the data according to our account settings, at most 14 months.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • know what data we process about you and receive a copy,
  • ask for incorrect data to be corrected,
  • ask for your data to be erased if we no longer need it or process it unlawfully,
  • ask for processing to be restricted,
  • receive your data in a machine-readable format (portability),
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest,
  • withdraw your consent to statistics at any time – withdrawal does not affect earlier processing.

Just write to info@rkmedical.sk. We will reply without undue delay and within one month at the latest.

If you believe we handle your data unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27, dataprotection.gov.sk.

Further information

Providing data is voluntary. However, we cannot handle an inquiry without a name and contact details. We do not use the data for automated decision-making or profiling.
