T-100C
Heating pad for maintaining a newborn's body temperature – in a cot, in an incubator and…

Device for therapeutic hypothermia in newborns with hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE).
Hypothermia protects brain tissue and, in hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy, reduces both neonatal mortality and the incidence of severe disability at 18 months. Using a water blanket, the MH-100A cools the infant to 33.5 to 34 °C within two hours, maintains this temperature throughout the treatment and then slowly rewarms the infant to 37 °C. The physician sets both the cooling and rewarming rates.
It cools and heats by means of a semiconductor element, so it needs no refrigerant and operates quietly and without vibration. Its volume is approximately a quarter of that of conventional floor-standing units.
The physician can preset seven treatment protocols with a target rectal temperature and treatment duration. The device displays skin, rectal and blanket temperatures continuously, also in the form of graphs.
The temperature is safeguarded by three independent protection systems with audible and visual alarms. After a power failure, treatment continues in its previous state. The blanket is filled with and drained of water electrically.
The device can be connected to an EEG monitor and to the hospital information system.
