The portable heating pad helps to maintain the newborn's body temperature and prevent hypothermia. It can be used in a cot beside the mother, together with an incubator or infant warmer, and during transport within the hospital – thanks to the battery, it also heats away from a mains socket.

The pad is heated by carbon fibre, and a graphite layer distributes the heat evenly over the entire surface. The pad is X-ray transparent.
