The wireless duty unit consists of a base and a handset.
- The base is the part of the set that provides basic communication with the cordless handset, network communication over the LAN with the router (switch) and telephone calls via the public telephone network. The range of the base station is limited, up to 50 m inside buildings; the range is reduced when ECO mode is switched on. The device is always powered from the MediCall system backbone line via a power stabiliser, which is included in the set.
- The handset is the receiving device that provides the voice connection with the base and comes with a charger. The wireless duty unit is a standard cordless telephone connected to the system via the base. It can be used in staff duty rooms or at the workstation where the staff terminal is located. The element allows staff to move around within the range of the cordless telephone while remaining immediately available to provide care and assistance.
